Know where your Foundry implementation stands.

Lema Analytics runs independent, engineer-led assessments of production Palantir Foundry environments. Fixed scope, fixed fee, four weeks, and a report your executives and engineers can both act on. When the findings need fixing, we build the fixes too.

Led by a Foundry engineer with eight years of data platform delivery across defense, federal, and enterprise environments, now working with commercial teams.

Why an assessment

Foundry is powerful and easy to sprawl. Ownership gets fuzzy. Full rebuilds run on schedules nobody remembers setting. Pipelines succeed while publishing incomplete data. Access widens quietly.

Most teams know some of this is happening. Few have the time or the outside perspective to measure it. The Foundry Platform Assurance QuickScan gives you a scored, prioritized picture in four weeks, without interrupting your roadmap.

Foundry Platform Assurance QuickScan

An independent assessment of how your team has implemented and operates Palantir Foundry.

What's covered

Up to two critical business workflows, end to end, against a fixed set of roughly 15 controls across:

  • Platform governance: ownership, change control, production separation, documentation
  • Pipeline reliability: freshness, quality checks, failure detection, recovery, testing
  • Security configuration: least privilege, sensitive data propagation, production change rights
What you get
  • Scope memorandum agreed before fieldwork starts
  • Maturity scorecard, 0 to 5 per control domain
  • Prioritized findings register with severity, business impact, and a specific recommendation for each
  • 90-day remediation roadmap
  • Executive readout plus a technical walkthrough for your engineers
What it takes from you
Roughly 8 to 12 stakeholder hours across kickoff, interviews, and findings validation. A dedicated, read-only, time-limited Foundry identity for the assessor. Access to recent build history, documentation, and the owners of the two workflows.
Price

Fixed fee, agreed before fieldwork starts.

Scoped on the call, quoted in writing, no hourly billing. Includes one 30-day follow-up call. Remediation implementation is available separately.

What this is not
A penetration test, a compliance certification, or a Palantir product review. Assessments are based on sampled evidence and cannot guarantee that every weakness is found.

How it works

  1. 1

    Scope.

A 30-minute call to pick the two workflows that matter most and confirm access. Week 1 covers kickoff, a criticality workshop, and the evidence request.

  2. 2

    Assess.

Weeks 2 and 3 are evidence-based fieldwork using a read-only identity. Metadata and configuration, not your data. Nothing leaves your environment without written approval.

  3. 3

    Validate.

Your engineers review every high-severity finding before it reaches the executive report. Draft findings are shared before the readout, so there are no surprises.

  4. 4

    Act.

Week 4 closes with the final report, the 90-day roadmap, and an executive readout. Follow-on remediation is available if you want help fixing what we found.

Data engineering

For teams that need the work done, not just reviewed.

The assessment is where most clients start. Plenty need hands on the platform afterward, and some skip straight to that. We take on scoped engineering engagements on Foundry and the systems around it.

Pipelines
Design, build, and repair of transforms and pipelines. Incremental processing, schema change handling, quality checks, and recovery that actually works when a build fails.
Ontology and applications
Object model design, actions, and Workshop applications built for production use, with the ownership and access model to match.
Platform integration
Connecting Foundry to Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, and Azure data estates. dbt models, orchestration, and cost-aware storage layouts.
Analytics and reporting
Governed metrics and executive reporting in Power BI or Tableau, standardized so the numbers agree across teams.
Remediation
Fixing what an assessment found, with verification that the fix closed the finding and did not introduce new risk.

About

Lema Analytics is led by Nate Lema, a data engineer with eight years building and operating data platforms, the last several on Palantir Foundry. He started Lema to give commercial data teams the kind of rigorous, independent review usually reserved for regulated industries, and the engineering to act on it.

Lema Analytics is an independent consultancy. We do not resell Foundry, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by Palantir Technologies.
